Adolescent & Child Therapy
A Safe Space to Figure It Out.
Growing up is hard. And being a kid or teenager today comes with pressures that previous generations simply didn't face in the same way — social media, academic stress, identity exploration, and the lingering effects of a world that's changed dramatically in just a few years.
At Peace of Mind Therapy we create a warm, judgment-free space where young people can actually open up — and where real growth can happen. We work with children and adolescents ages 8–18 via telehealth across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
Your child will benefit from therapy if...
- They seem anxious, overwhelmed, or constantly on edge
- Their mood has shifted and you're not sure why
- They're struggling socially — with friendships, fitting in, or feeling lonely
- School has become a source of significant stress or avoidance
- They've experienced something difficult and are having trouble processing it
- They're navigating questions about identity, sexuality, or who they are
- They're pulling away and you're not sure how to reach them
- Family changes — divorce, a new sibling, a move — have been hard on them
- They've told you something is wrong — or you just know something is

-
Kids and teens can tell when an adult is being real with them — and when they're not. Our therapists show up as genuine humans who are actually interested in what young people think, feel, and experience. No condescension. No lectures. Just real conversation.
-
We meet children and teens where they are. Sessions are tailored to each young person's age, personality, and communication style — whether that means talking, creative expression, or something in between.
-
We recognize how important family is in a young person's life. We collaborate with parents and caregivers when appropriate — keeping everyone aligned while protecting the privacy and trust of the child or teen we're working with.
-
Our goal is to help young people develop the tools, confidence, and self-awareness to navigate life's challenges — not to create dependency on therapy. We work toward growth and independence from day one.
-
Telehealth therapy for children and teens is just as effective as in-person — and many young people actually prefer it. Attending from their own comfortable space often helps them open up more easily. Available across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
Our Approach to
Child & Adolescent Therapy
A Note for Parents
We know it can feel vulnerable to bring your child to therapy, and we want you to feel just as supported in this process as they do.
Before your child's first session we'll connect with you to understand your concerns, answer your questions, and make sure everyone feels prepared. Throughout the therapy we'll keep you appropriately informed while honoring your child's need for a private, trusting space with their therapist.
You're not handing your child off — you're bringing in a partner.
